It all began after my father saw something strange in the field.
Our home was in Robertson County, Tennessee, near the Red River.
A normal farmhouse by day—
a barn, a cornfield, and nothing but insects at night.
One day, my father said he saw an animal at the edge of the field.
It looked like a dog, he said.
But its head was too big,
and its eyes looked… human.
He fired his gun.
He didn’t know if he hit it.
The creature simply vanished.
That night, the noises started.
At first, it was scratching on the walls.

Something crawled above us.
