It happened when I visited Key West.
I was traveling with a friend, and because of the awkward drizzle, all our outdoor plans were ruined.
So we decided to visit a museum instead.

They said a famous doll was there.

My friend said,

I laughed.

It sat on a small chair,
wearing an old sailor suit,
holding a stuffed toy that looked like a dog or a lion.
Its face was rough, like stitched cloth.
Its eyes were small and black.
It wasn’t smiling,
