The Juyeop Station Wheelchair Urban Legend (The Platform Line)
Beyond the Red Line, the Sound of Wheels Waiting for Me
At night, the stations around Goyang City along the Ilsan Line, an extension of Subway Line 3, are wrapped in a distinctive silence. Juyeop Station, the setting of this urban legend, is an ordinary station crowded with citizens during the day, but once late night approaches and the last train draws near, its atmosphere changes completely.
The story mainly began with eyewitness accounts from students returning home late after academy classes, or office workers waiting for the last train after dragging their exhausted bodies out of overtime work.
Close to midnight, on the empty platform of Juyeop Station, where all signs of people have vanished. Before platform screen doors were installed, if you stood alone behind the yellow safety line on that bleak concrete platform, a strange sound would come from deep inside the dark tunnel in the distance, or from the elevator at the end of the platform.
